Fortune Bay Resort Casino is owned and operated
by the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.
The resort casino is located in the Vermilion
sector of the Reservation, which was established
as a permanent home for the Bois Forte people
through an 1854 Treaty with the United States
Government.
The Bois Forte Band is committed to growing
the economic vitality of Northeastern Minnesota.
Fortune Bay is the largest non-mining employer
in the northern region of the state with
approximately 515 employees. The annual
payroll is approximately $10,200,000, plus
nearly $2 million in benefits. Fortune Bay
purchases nearly $22 million in goods and
services each year from vendors, most of
them local.
The Bois Forte Band is not only an economic
engine for Minnesota, but also a good neighbor.
