2021 City Auto Glass Walleye Classic
May 28, 2021
City Auto Glass Walleye Classic draws in another big crowd!
Another City Auto Glass Walleye Classic is in the books! Thanks to all the folks who made this event possible as a total of 250 anglers took to Lake Vermilion for the annual fishing tournament.
Taking home the $15,000 first-place cash prize were Cook’s Jarek Wujkowski and Will Hanson, who caught 6 walleyes totaling 20.41 pounds.
The popular event, which draws teams from all over the state, also included a golf tournament at The Wilderness.
Taking home first-place honors at the golf tournament were Matt Uhan and Nick Devich, who carded an impressive nine-under-par, 63 to win the 5th annual tourney.
Following the golf tournament, anglers headed to The Woodlands Ballroom for social hour, registration, and dinner. Plenty of great raffle prizes were up for grabs throughout the evening. Anglers could be seen talking about their game plan for the fishing tournament, while also talking about previous City Auto Glass tournaments they participated in.
The City Auto Glass (CAG) Walleye Classic is a non-profit event, produced by The CAG Foundation. Since 2006, the Foundation has donated more than $250,000 to area high school and college students, with funds designed to help further the education of hard-working and success-seeking area young people! Just as the volunteers work hard to produce a quality tournament, they seek to reward students who are doing just the same with their future potential!
Thanks again to you all for giving back to the kids — and hats off to all of the volunteers from the City Auto Glass Foundation who worked so hard in the planning of the 2021 event!
Fortune Bay is proud to be a part of this great event and we look forward to an even better event in 2022!
